LMAA Shipping Arbitration

A case involved an LMAA shipping arbitration of scrap and shredded steel between one of the largest Indian steel production companies and an increasingly important Anglo-Indian steel trader and specifically raised the issue of when the buyer’s obligations to issue Letters of Credit arose. Having commenced the arbitration and having called evidence the Claimant represented by Simon Davenport QC successfully obtained a satisfactory financial settlement before the conclusion of the Reference.
