Simon Davenport QC instructed in high profile case against RBS

27 April 2016

Simon Davenport QC has been instructed to lead a team from 3 Hare Court to act for a group of businesses in the high profile and much-anticipated intended group action against the Royal Bank of Scotland. Simon is leading a team of barristers whose core is recently appointed silk Aidan Casey QC and Daniel Lewis and is being instructed by senior partner Mark Humphries and managing partner Kris Kerstetter of Humphries Kerstetter.

The group, named RGL Management, is planning to sue the Scottish bank over its (now defunct) global restructuring group (GRG) which they allege caused loss to their companies.

The case involves claimants from hundreds of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that were put into administration by GRG, and the value of the claim is set to top £1bn.

We are delighted to be instructed in this high profile litigation.
